Ran the farm Uplands; Uplands House where Sherwood estate is opposite the
windmill, on the other side of Borstall Hill. He owned Martindowne Estates
located at the top of Borstall Hill. The land was sold and divided in the early
1950s.
Grandfather owned a lot of property in Whitstable, including Island Wall. -KL
<!-- windmill is that main Borstall Hill one, which sits opposite where the
entrance was to Upland Farm, probably not far from Uplands House today.
On that map I sent you, it had a windmill, and flour by it.

I've made a start by downloading his file uk_census.TXT & searching on
whitstable - see "up to here"

The problem with this is that it does not show the original family unit
and relationships. Also in the conversion from a database it is now not
possible to tell which census each is from. Also the date at the end is
sometimes a date of birth not death. I have sometimes added the likely
